When an epileptic seizure takes place, it is important to keep calm.

In case there is no loss of consciousness and the kid does not fall apart, you should not do anything. Conversely, if the kid loses consciousness and he / she falls down, first thing to do is to lay him / her down in a comfortable position which entails no danger. All harmful objects should be kept away.

It is not recommended to shake the kid, interfere in his/ her movements, and try to stop the seizure or introduce any object in the mouth.

The most dangerous places at home are the kitchen and the toilet, under the risk of burning themselves or get hurt in the head.

Seizures occurring in the water can be the cause of drowning.
